Public Works & Engineering
The Veneta Public works crew consists of six employees plus 1-2 seasonal workers. This handful of employees have the enormous task of maintaining the City's water and sewer systems, including five wells and a sewer treatment facility, operating the Veneta Community Pool, maintaining City parks, providing animal control service and generally keeping the City up and running.
The City does not currently employ an in-house engineering staff. Engineering services are provided by contract with a local firm of consulting engineers.
Reporting a Water Leak
Leaks from private water lines on private property are the responsibility of the property owner. During business hours, leaks from the City system should be reported to City Hall at 935-2191. After hours, substantial leaks (actively gushing out of the ground) should be reported to the Lane County Sheriff's Office at 682-4141.
