About Veneta

The City of Veneta thrives on its own diversity. From the rich cultures of its citizen population of nearly 5,000 to the 250 bird species that abide in the surrounding wildlife refuges, diversity is not merely tolerated, it is encouraged. Incorporated in 1962, Veneta has transformed from a bustling timber town to a progressive, visionary city that has both embraced recent growth and continued to prepare for future growth with major projects such as downtown redevelopment, a site-ready industrial park and upgraded public works facilities. Located 12 miles west of the Eugene/Springfield Metropolitan Area,  it serves as a gateway to the Coast Range, a market for local wineries and farms, and a home to Fern Ridge Reservoir. Veneta’s proximity to Fern Ridge Reservoir and associated wetlands provides numerous aesthetic qualities, and an array of outdoor recreation opportunities from world-class sailing and boating to birding and hiking. Veneta is increasingly becoming a popular place to live, visit, and recreate. We may be a little off the beaten path, but we like it that way.
