Spring Egg Hunt

Held on the Saturday before Easter at Veneta Elementary, the Spring Egg Hunt is always a huge success! Hundreds of kids from the Fern Ridge Area turn out to round up thousands of candy filled eggs and have a great time. The Parks Board can always use more help. Contact the City if you are interested in volunteering with this event. The 2012 Easter egg hunt is Saturday, April 7^th, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Zumwalt Campground

Each year during the Oregon Country Fair, the City of Veneta takes over Zumwalt Park, a  beautiful County owned 50+acre site an the banks of Fern Ridge Reservoir. For three nights, the City operates a full service campground, complete with showers and food. The exuberance of the Fair continues at Zumwalt with a campfire and drum circle, music and festivities. Zumalt has become an event unto itself with many campers coming back year after year, some without even going to the fair. Tickets are available from the City and generally go on sale around the same time as Fair tickets.

City Wide Clean Up

Each year on the first Saturday in May the City hold a spring clean up event at the Public Works yard on Bolton Hill Road. City residents are invited to bring yard waste, junk, tires, metal and recyclables to be disposed of free of charge. A great opportunity to get rid of any junk accumulating around your property for FREE!

Wings and Wine

Bird watchers, wine lovers, and nature enthusiasts are invited to annual Fern Ridge Wings and Wine Festival near Veneta.  A wide array of activities will be held throughout the day at Domaine Meriwether’s new winery and nearby Fern Ridge Reservoir, one of Oregon’s best birding areas. Holiday Light Parade

The Veneta light parade is held each year around the last week of November. A community effort of the Chamber of Commerce, Lane County Fire District #1, EPUD, Lane Electric and many others, the light parade is always well attended and is a great chance to get out on a chilly winter evening and enjoy the creatively decorated fire trucks, cars, floats and other brightly adorned vehicles.
