CITY OF VENETA GENERAL ELECTION
NOVEMBER 2, 2010
For the November 2, 2010 General Election in the City of Veneta, the following positions will be on the ballot:
Two (2) City Council positions
Each position is for a four year term commencing January 2011.
To be a candidate you must be a resident of the City of Veneta who qualifies as a legal voter under the laws and constitution of the state of Oregon and be a resident of the City of Veneta one year (365 days) immediately preceding the election.
Candidates for City of Veneta offices file by petition. Petition packets are available at Veneta City Hall; 88184 Eighth Street; Veneta, Oregon.
The 2010 deadline for filing petitions is Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.

The City is now accepting comments on the proposed wastewater system Development Charge (SDC) methodology. Comments must be submitted in writing by 5:00 pm on July 10, 2010.

Incorporated in 1962, the City of Veneta is a thriving community of over 4800
people. The City of Veneta is located 12 miles west of the Eugene/Springfield
Metropolitan Area, in the southwest corner of the beautiful Willamette Valley
in Lane County, Oregon. Veneta is located in close proximity to the Fern Ridge
reservoir, and is only 45 miles from the Pacific Ocean and 90 miles from the
scenic Cascade Mountains.
